All Pucked Up |
- Summary
- This loss took us out of the playoffs. They jumped to a quick 4-0 lead. Our whole team
looked pathic and tired. It wasn't one of our better games. Our teams lifetime playoff
record is 3-14. Next session will start in a few weeks. We will be playing in the C
league. Yeah!!!
- Player of the Game
- Dave(two games in a row) for chipping a tooth with an assist going to Brandon who helped
Dave chip it.
- Quote of the Game
- "I usually give it two yanks, and then let it go." - Brandon talking about his
goal stick when Dave got tied up in it.

Brews Brothers |
- Summary
- Having played our last game about 3 weeks earlier our team didn't look too rusty. This
was a power house team that we were playing. We were able to stay within striking distance
most of the game. They scored 1st. Brian got our 1st goal when the puck deflected off his
skate and went into the goal. They were up 3-1 after 1st period. Tony got our 2nd goal.
They pulled away from us in the 3rd period with some nice passing and lots of shots on
goal.

- Dave because he was the 1st player to pay his tourney fee

- "I'm the one who smells like cat litter" - Matt whose gear had been sitting by
the litter box since the last game

- Summary
- Not much to brag about. This team was hurting for players. They had someone fill in at
goalie. It was his 1st time in net. Our team worked on its passing game. This was the
final game of the session. Our record was 10-10. Playoffs start in about 2-3 weeks.

- The other teams goalie. The kid did a pretty good job

- Summary
- Both teams matched up in speed and skills. There was just the right amount of physical
play in this game to make it fun. Nobody had more than a one goal lead throughout the
game. Toad and Tony each scored and Dave had 2 goals. We tied the game 4-4 with less than
3 minutes to go. They scored with about 1:25 in the game to win it.

- Summary
- Final score doesn't reflect how close this game really was. Scoring for the Clown
Punchers were Tony, Mike G., Dave, Mike W. and whoever else I forgot? Tony got a penalty
in the 1st period that we were able to kill. We had a good effort from everyone on the
team.

- "will you show me how to score on an open net" from Dave asking Mike G. after
the game. (Dave has missed several open net shots this session)

- Summary
- It took another shootout to decide a winner. It was our 5th shootout of the session.
Andy started the scoring by putting the puck into his own goal. Brian scored to even the
game at 1-1. The scoring went back and forth between the teams. Tony got 2 goals and Matt
had one. This game shouldn't have went to a shootout. In the 2nd period Dave sent the puck
into his own goal. (Wow 2 times in one game! Were good!) Our record is now 8 wins 9 losses
for the session.

- Tony with 2 goals, one of them a great diving effort to get the puck

- "I don't trust any of you guys with the puck!" Brandon- after his own team
scored twice on him. geesh!!

These Nuts |
- Summary
- Good news our team got some really cool looking jerseys. Bad news our team lost 6-3. We
took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Andy. They scored the next 2. We tied the game on a pass from
Matt to Andy. With about 3 minutes left in the game Matt scored to put us ahead 3-2. We
then managed (in the great Clown Puncher tradition) to give up 4 goals in less then 3
minutes!

- Summary
- They were up 2-0 before Mike W. was able to score and make it a 2-1 game. Toad got our
2nd goal of the game. Toad shot the puck and it deflected off a defender and found its way
into the net. We trailed 4-2 in the 3rd period. Tony got our 3rd and final goal of the
game about halfway thru the 3rd period.

- Dave and Toad who were doing an outstanding job of moving the puck away from our goal.

- "Dave's here?" about half the team said this when Dave showed up for the game
on time.

- Summary
- Game started with the other team not having any goalie. We were able to score 2 goals
before they got someone in front of the net. Brian got his bell rung in the 2nd period on
a beautiful collision. Everyone who saw it thought it was really cool...everyone that is
but Brian who was laying on the rink. Dave,Scott,Brian each had a goal. Matt had 2 or 3
and Andy had 4 goals.

- The whole Clown Punchers team. Everyone looked relaxed and was having fun tonight

- "I gotta get to the door" from Andy who can't climb the wall on the line
changes.

- Summary
- This is probably the best team in the league. In the past, we have played well against
them, but not today. They got off to an early lead, and never looked back. All of our
goals were scored by Mike (1 by Mike G. the rest by Mike W.). The biggest highlight for us
was when we killed off a penalty in the third period.

- Summary
- Lots of shots from our offense that just wouldn't trickle into the goal. We had two
powerplays chances that we threw away. Bodies from both teams flying all over the place.
Mike G. went to the penalty box late in the 3rd period. Mike W. and Scott were not at the
game tonight. Plenty of chances but no positive results.

- Nobody......(because we got shut out!!!!!)

- Who said skate?? - Brian after being hit immediately after being told he had time to
skate the puck.

- Summary
- Tony got our 1st goal. Andy got the assist on Matts goal. Late in the 3rd period Tony
got his 2nd goal of the game. At the end of regulation the game was tied 3-3. So we head
to our 4th shootout in the last 5 games. It took both teams 8 shooters each before the
Clown Punchers won the game.
- Player of the Game
- Tony and Brandon share the honors. Tony with his 2 goals and Brandon with his work
defending the goal in the shootout
- Quote of the Game
- Brandon "Don't ever f**k**g do that again!" This was one of those quotes where
you had to be there to see or in this case hear it. One of their last shooters in the
overtime was doing all kinds of fancy jumps and spins as he approached the puck. He
started skating with it when he looked up and lost the puck. The ref blew the play dead
and the jerk then proceeded to shoot the puck at Brandon anyway. Brandon then screamed his
quote.

- Summary
- We fell behind 3-0 before Matt finally got us on the scoreboard with a nice slapshot.
Spitfires came right back and scored a minute later to make it a 4-1 game. Later in the
game Brian gets the assist on Mikes goal to make it a 4-2 score. We pulled our goalie with
almost 2 minutes remaining to try to make up the two goal deficit. For the most part, we
kept the puck in their end, but they got an empty net goal in the final seconds to finish
us off and hand us a 5-2 loss.

- Summary
- Another shootout. It was the 3rd shootout in a row. (whats new) The Alleycats played
very hard and aggressive. Nothing cheap or dirty in their style of play. They jumped out
to a 2-0 lead before Mike White scored to make it a 2-1 game. We did tie the game on
Matt's goal. Toad got a penalty in the 3rd period when he did a nice slid taking one of
the Alleycats down to the floor.

- "Hey look...matts got all of his equipment on" (this was quoted as Matt was
getting ready to start skating in the shootout)

Hockeytowne |
- Summary
- We won 6-5 going to a shootout to find a winner. Hockeytowne scored first to take a 1-0
lead. We tied it up after Matt took a shot and Andy scored on the rebound. In the 2nd
period we were up 3-1. The 3rd period was back and forth with our team standing around
watching Hockeytowne get cheap ugly goals.
The game was tied 4-4 with about 2 minutes
left when Hockeytowne got a five minute penalty for crushing Scott up against the boards.
Hockeytowne managed to score a shorthanded goal with about 45 seconds left in the game to
take the lead 5-4. Hockeytowne cleared the puck down the rink with about 18 seconds left.
Our defense picked the puck up behind our goal and started skating forward. They sent it
to Matt who picked it up around the center of the rink. Matt snaked his way thru their
defense (the whole time all of the Clown Punchers were yelling to shoot the puck!!!) Matt
skated down along the wall and passed it across to Andy who punched it in with 1 second
left. Game tied 5-5. Were heading to a shootout. Hockeytowne scored once in five tries.
Andy and Brian both scored for the Clown Punchers in the shootout. Clown Punchers win 6-5
....

- Matt who had 1 goal and 3 assists. The team also should give Brandon a pat on the back
for his goal work in the shootout.

- The pregame name calling(that can't be repeated here because of adult subject matter)
between Toad and Matt.
